The Santa Cruz Oil Painters (SCOP) was formed in 2001 as a group of Santa Cruz California artists. Originally only painters working in the oil medium, membership was opened to artists working in other mediums as well. We are dedicated to providing opportunities for our members to gather, network and benefit from each others’ painting experiences and to grow artistically.

• Group art shows are organized to provide opportunities for our members to exhibit their work.
• Weekly plein air painting outings are arranged in Santa Cruz Mountains and Monterey Bay area.
• Members have access to an extensive and growing library of instructional DVDs.
• Art workshops and retreats are arranged to further our memberships’ art education.
• A summer BBQ and Christmas party, provide great opportunities to mingle and get to know each other better.
