What an extraordinary week! Wish I could have bought a painting from each of the 40 national painters, but got the book instead. Here is Jim Wodark doing his Vana White routine showing that day is night and night is day. Treasure Island Beach was also a beauty, arch and all.

Great Fun at Coraly’s Workshop
A few of us attended Coraly’s weekend workshop. Two great days of painting and learning. Coraly has so much to give and so very willing to share it all. Learned new techniques and a new color palette. Saturday was foggy and windy so conditions were a bit rough. But Sunday we painted in Carmel. It… Continue reading Great Fun at Coraly’s Workshop
Colorful Kirby Park
Wayne, Lorraine, and I had a fine time painting from the parking lot as the train went by. The sky outlined the hills and the gray fog rolled out. Yes, the wind picked up later in the day. But it was good to get out get a little plein air practice.
Harbor 50th Celebration Aug 2, 11am-4pm
Reflections must be painted early, as harbor boat traffic disturbs them as the morning progresses.
Busted on Zils Road – A word of Warning…
Just returned from our Tuesday paint-out along Zils Road in La Selva Beach. We got busted by the property owner of the Farm Stand for trespassing! She was not happy with us. Allowed us to “finish our paintings – but don’t come back again” – Apparently she had recently had a negative experience with some… Continue reading Busted on Zils Road – A word of Warning…

The House Martins were tending their babies and we were tending our paintings. It was hot! Unusual for Santa Cruz and… Continue reading Wilder Ranch Paint-Out on May 13 – Hot and Lovely!
Carmel Valley Village Paintout
Michele, Lorraine, and I had an interesting day (with 22 other painters) in Carmel Village. It’s a great place to paint, so we’ll take you there soon. Met lots of friendly people and sampled some good wine and olive oil. Jean
Moss Landing
Twelve of us had a warm, clear day painting. Lunch at the Sea Harvest was satisfying for all. Nice photos, Lee.
Elkhorn Wednesday
Though we had but a few hours until the gates closed at 5 pm, it was a wonderful view, clear and bright. Karen S. and Daryl joined us at the Seaharvest. Wonderful dinner, great company. Thanks, Suzanne, for figuring out the bill.
Villa Angelica Retreat
Ten of us were lucky enough to spend four splendid days across from Monastery Beach in Carmel. The weather was excellent, except for Tuesday, when fog rolled in. What a challenge to try to see the landscape. See photo of part of the group that day. At Julia Pfeiffer we saw condors circling and at… Continue reading Villa Angelica Retreat
