The Santa Cruz Oil Painters are painting for a show to benefit the Pajaro Valley Health Trust. The exhibition will be cited at and sponsored by Watsonville Community Hospital in the spring of 2016. Stay tuned. We have been painting at the various sloughs in the valley and at historic properties.
This day at Gizdich Ranch, the sky was overcast with a very low ceiling. Soon after we assembled for the picture, the mist turned to rain. Some of us found shelter in the barn, or under a tree, or under our umbrellas. I stopped painting when my easel had water collecting in its pockets and rivulets ran down my canvas. A few days later, Maggie and I returned to paint when we had some sun. It is fun to have a focus for our work.
